A lot of us do not realize the relationship between hair loss and stress. Stress apart from having negative effects on several of our body’s functions also hair health. The hair loss that occurs due to sudden or very severe stress is termed as ‘Telogen Effluvium’. Sudden loss of hair is seen in people within 2 to 4 months after they face some very stressful situations. It is well known that an average human being loses about 100 hairs each day, which is considered the normal standard. However in the case of stressful situations a person may loss about 300 to 400 hairs each day. Such is the effect of such circumstances on human beings.

Hair loss and stress seem to go hand in hand. There are few ways in which you can ease your level of stress along with your hair loss problems though. The first thing that you need to do is to indulge in some sort of physical exercise on a regular basis. Exercise is known to reduce the level of secretion of the hormone called adrenaline, which is the root cause of increased levels of stress. Exercise also calms your mind, enables sound sleep and improves overall physical and mental health.

Now that you know the relationship between hair loss and stress you should make it a point to relax and take enough sleep. Proper sleep is necessary for the body to function properly. Relaxation is another thing that you need to try out. Sitting in a good posture, while keeping your body straight and doing some deep breathing is a simple way to relax. You should make it a point to include relaxation as an important part of your daily routine. You will be amazed to find the difference it makes to your overall health and especially to your hair health.

Hair loss and stress can both be tackled by proper relaxation. Proper sleep in itself will have its effect by easing symptoms of unwanted mental strain. You should take extra care and have a good diet. Eating properly is perhaps the most natural way to get back to overall good health. You should preferably take a diet which is rich in minerals, vitamins and proteins. What you eat should be wholesome and could include, whole grains, milk, butter, cheese, eggs, meat, fish and chickens. You should also eat regular servings of fresh fruits and leafy green vegetables which will reduce the symptoms of hair loss and stress.
