My Review of Provillus After 6 Months

172

I’ve been using Provillus for about 6 months now and I thought I’d write up a little review of my experience so that people who are thinking about trying it will be able to make their decision more easily – because back when I first ordered I couldn’t find reviews from real people.

When I first made the decision to try Provillus I was quite weary and didn’t really believe anything on their website because it seems too good to be true almost. I’ve tried several other products in the past with no results at all, like special shampoo’s, liquids, procerin and other pills and didn’t see any change. The bad thing is that it takes so long before you can tell if the product is working or not, so it can take years to find something worth using – If you’re reading this review then you probably know what I mean.

The only thing that helped me decide to try Provillus was the 3 month money back guarantee. So I figured if I didn’t notice anything (which I thought would be the case) I’d just get my money back and move on the next thing. I ordered the 6 month system and it was pretty cheap compared to other things I’ve tried (see below photo). It arrived at my house after only 3 or 4 days if I recall correctly and I started on a regular routine, making sure I didn’t miss days which I know can screw things up.
Provillus before and after
Yes, that’s the advanced hair logo in the before photo (the photo was taken at their studio)… I had just completed the 6 month advanced hair program with no results and spent $4,000 on it. Now in just 6 months on Provillus you can hardly tell I have any hair missing unless you look really hard.

After a month it was hard to tell if anything had changed because hair grows so slowly. In 2 months I could definitely notice an improvement on the front of my hairline which had previously receded quite a bit and was now growing back! This was very encouraging.

I kept up the treatments everyday for another 2 months and a lot of my hair had grown back but it was quite fine and whispy at first, but still a really good sign – none of the other products I’d tried had even been able to do that.

Since then the hair has just kept growing (I’ve included some before and after photo’s above). I went to get a haircut and it looked a lot thicker after I got that done and the hair that used to be whispy is now normal like the rest of my hair and it’s getting hard to tell that I used to have a bad receding hair-line. The balding patch on the crown of my head is totally covered in hair and I’m hoping in another 6 months that ALL of my hair will be back to how it was when I was 20 years old (I can always dream!)

I’m really happy with the results and I’ll keep taking Provillus. My confidence levels have gone up a great deal and I’m even getting back into training at the gym.

I strongly recommend Provillus for anyone who is worried about hair loss or for people who are already sufferring from hair loss. There is even a formula for women which obviously I haven’t tried, but if it’s anything like the men’s version I would recommend it.

I hope this Provillus review has helped in your choice!

All the best,

Steve

I’ve been using Provillus for over a year now and have had results just like yours. I waited a bit too long before I started using it so it took a bit longer for me to grow my hair back. Thanks for your review, I wish there were more people like you! I’ll order some more now because I’m nearly out

Can you tell me for how many months or years we have to take this Provillus?or for life time we have to take it.but as per my knowledge after taking Provillus for 2 to 3 years it doesn’t wokr.or if you leave it after some period then again hair fall starts. Can you explain??

Steve Reply:

Hi Jyoti, Provillus is a lifetime thing (like all hair loss products), because hair loss is caused by hormones in your body which can’t be permanently removed or stopped by any pill or operation. Provillus just blocks these hormones from causing hair loss as long as you keep taking it. So yes, it’s a lifetime thing

I’m a woman and I’ve been using the womens Provillus for about 3 months now and I want the women to know that it actually works!

Balding was a bit problem with me because it was making me depressed and a lot less confident – I didn’t want to be seen in public.

After taking Provillus for just a short amount of time I’m already seeing great results and feeling so much happier about life.

I hope this helps the women out there!

I started using Saw Palmetto a while ago cos it’s cheap and it kind of slowed my hair loss I think – Now I’ve started on provillus and it’s been probably 3 months and it’s working great – My hair is actually growing back.

I just ran out so I’m going to get another 6mths.

It’s cool to see other people are having good results too!

Hi there,
I have been researching all sorts of hair loss products for my husband & have come across Provillus & this website that looks quite promising! I am in the U.K and wandered if I can purchase from here or only direct from the USA?
Also where is the best place to purchase it?

I look forward to hearing your responses

Hey Steve,
Thanks for replying to me. I have another issue which I wouldn’t mind your help on….
On going to their website I can only seem to buy the capsules & not the lotion & when I emailed them they said ‘due to international customs we do not ship
our minoxidil topical treatment beyond U.S. borders.’
Is there any other way for me to get hold of it?? As I feel from my research that having the minoxidil (being FDA approved) in combination with the capsules will ensure this treatment works.

I look forward to your response.

Kind regards
Sarah

I am from CANADA …I order provillus and i was suprise how fast it got. here .. But I wanted the liquid solution and pills but I got 2 bottels of the pills… which is more effective…. so i started to take it today OCT 20/2008 and take my before pictures and in 3 months I hope to see some results.. But from what i hear provillus is only good for the top back balding crown.. the male balding pattern…. My problem is the very top of the head and the top sides.. i am thinning there and I cant even spike my hair with gel… so what I wanna know does provillus covers the whole head from top front and top back… and top sides.. pleae let me know…. cause I hear many good reviews on this product…. and is there any serious side effects….

THis is the truth!!!

sides effects;

*It makes your head itchy

*dry your scalp–you just have to take showers a lot.

—————————————–
GOOD NEWS:
—————————————–

you must use the solution and the pills, it will make your hair healthier and shinier

It definately stop your hair lost–it maintains what you have.

even though it says only apply to your bald spot–you dont have to do that.

the best way to apply the solution is to apply everyhere on your head and use the comb to comb your hair so that the solution spread evenly–apply to the bald spot a little bit more of solution.

if you’re going to apply the solution before going to bed-it is best idea to wear a rag or a beanie hat on your head to avoid spreading the solution on your bed or the spread of the solution to unwanted place that you dont want to regrow hair.

Hi Steve,

do you start shedding first when you use provillus before growing back the hair? A lot of people has been asking.

I believed everyone is asking because that happens for Rogaine users.

I’m on Rogaine and thinking of switching to provillus. I’m also interesting about the initially shedding question.

Can anyone explain more in detail about DHT that blocks your hair roots from growing.. I heard working out in the gym causes DHT to release in the hair follicle.. Now I work out inthe gym 4 times a week and would it help my hair grow if I stop working out so that DHT doesnt occur often…. but i look around the gym .. alot of the guys have hairs only a few that are bald…. so what is the real truth about DHT and working out in the gym…

Steve,
Are you affiliated in any way with the Provillus product and/or the manufacturer and marketers of this product?

When using the topical lotion in the morning, will it be noticed by others? In other words, can people tell that you have applied a product of some sort to your scalp?

While I understand it will be different for everyone, what is the expected timeframe for usage of this product? In other words, is this something that is used until the hair grows back, or does it need to be used forever to maintain the newly grown hair?

I also had another thought which i think is a very valid question or maybe just me being silly but… obviously when you use the lotion it is targeting the affectted area because that is solely where it is being applied however…. when you take the tablets how do they only target the hair on your head??? has anyone had any random hair growth??? arms??? legs??? back??? bit strange to me how it goes into your whole body but only targets 1 area???

Been on Provillus for 4 weeks now. I too was concerned by reading articles that expressed it was a scam and also by the HUGE claims made by Provillus.

At the moment I believe I am experiencing a shed as my hair does look thinner. However, I think the texture of my hair has improved.

I will continue with Provillus and see out my 6 months as I have nothing to lose. Propecia was a flop for me (literally) so herbs all the way. At best it will help me have a thicker scalp of hair, at worst I take a very expensive herbal supplement.

I have a thinning and receeding hair line at 26, just looking to hold onto what i have got till a ‘breakthrough’ happens.

I am combining the pills with 5% minoxidil and plan to buy a dermaroller to help it reach the follicles better.

I ACTUALLY will resubmit and let you guys know what is happening.

Stay happy, more important things than hair.

Peace

Hey Bruce,

I’ve done a little research and im having a hard time deciding between provillus and procerin. i see they are pretty much the same except provillus uses minoxidil. Now i am pretty sure my hair is thinning because of poor care and physical reasons. But i just want to get it thick and growing like it was before. So my question is since rogaine’s main ingredient is minoxidil and after you stop using rogaine your hair falls back out. Does that mean that it will fall out after discontinued use of provillus???? I mean i dont want to taking this stuff forever, just to get my hair healthy again. So wouldn’t procerin be better since its all natural??

My scalp is also flaky but I’ve heard that a great sign cause it shows it’s working!!, one possible side a think may be related is my skin is slightly breaking out, I’m 37 thought my acne days were well behind me Lol, it may also be built up anxiety as I hope so I can regain my esteem and confidence if this works!!
another quick point I’ve notice people messaging from Canada saying there having problems getting the pills and serum, I order of an Ebay supplier and had no problems!

Hey Steve,

I’m not wanting to be sceptical but i have come across reviews that have sung the praises of Provillus and those that say it’s a con. Your review seems very exciting as do the pictures, only something doesn’t make sense. Both picture are the same. I mean, it’s the same shirt with the collar lying exactly the same, your head in an identical position etc. The only difference is the amount of hair shown leaving me to think it’s a digitally enhanced copy of the first photo?

I would love to believe Provillus works so am more than happy to be proven wrong here.

Cheers,

Hey Steve,

Do you have any information about what happens if you stop taking Provillus? I’m interested in starting it, as I’m losing my hair, obviously, but don’t feel like paying for it for the rest of my life. Are the results permanent or do you have to continue using Provillus even after seeing the results you want?

Does anyone know if provillus works with receeding/thinning hair? I bought the 2 month pack and read the instructions which said not for frontial baldness or receeding hairline. I have read reviews and they state it does work for a receeding hairline. so basically, im confused.

Matt @ 6:09 pm #

how long should you leave the solution on your head? I find that it leaves a very greasy feel so I find I’ve been waking up at 5:30 am everyday letting the solution absorb for about an hour then I shower up and go to work, the evening application is more manageable, my question is 1 hour adequate time to let the solution absorb?

Hi Omar, you will get an improvement in your hairline using Provillus. I’ve had great success with it for my crown and receding hairline and I’ve heard loads of stories of success in other men with receding hairlines.

hi, just want to know do you take the 2 provillus capsules both at once or one in evening and morning or doesn’t it matter?
i use also caffeine shampoo in the morning and when hair dry i use minoxidil 5%. I also use propecia-have been on these for 2 months now but am 46 so not expecting fast results and will keep taking for a year to give good chance. Its hard to tell but think hair starting to thicken.

Steve Reply:

Hi Matt, I take them morning and night on an empty stomach with lots of water. I think it helps to spread the effects of the Provillus over the entire day and night. Will be great to hear your results

I’ve been taking propecia, minoxidil and nizoral for 2 years, I have grown small fine hairs all over my scalp but it is slow going. I’ve been patient but you would think after 2 years those hairs would have grown out longer than they have. After reading some of the comments on this site I’m thinking of ordering a 6 months supply of Provillus and replacing the Propecia read there would a risk to taking both. Before taking the big 3 as they are called I tried scalpmed and hair genesis and nothing seemed to work so I decided to take the sure thing which were the big 3. My personal opinion seems like I need something to kick start those small hairs into growing so will give Provillus a try and see what happens, I’ve added this site to my favorites and will post any positive or negative results I am having.

Hi Lin, just check the official Provillus site. You may have selected to just order the pills. Otherwise you can try generic Minodoxill from your local pharmacy, which should have similar results to Provillus lotion.

Steve Reply:

Hi Franco, yeah unfortunately, with all hair loss products you do need to continue using them, otherwise your hair will eventually go back to where it was before you started using the product. I don’t find this to be too much of a problem, since Provillus is affordable, and doesn’t take long to apply a couple of times each day.

Hi Brett, I’d recommend getting the liquid and then getting some generic Minodoxill from your local chemist (you can also order from online chemists).

Steve,
Will this product work for alopecia areata? I have a half dollar sized bald spot on the nape of my neck and I have started noticing smaller areas as well. I’m using topical steroids right now (only 1 month) Can I use the Provillus and topical clobetasol together?

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Christy, because of Provillus’ formula, you’ll be able to use it with your topical steroids as well as any other prescription medication and it will work very well.

Many men who can only get the Provillus liquid (because of shipping restrictions) get Propecia from the doctor, and then use that alongside Provillus and report terrific results

Hi,

I have seen lots good reviews about provillus; I have used scalpmed for sometime and quit. At present I am not using anyting past one year and now trying to get something like scalpmed but I am planning to try to provillus this time.

Can anyone tell if I use provillus, what common side effects are tehre? will that effect on sex? Or any other major concerns? Provillus use the same ingridents as scalpmed?

I want to use spray only; is it necessary/must to use pills to get results?

Thanks and appreciate your answers.

Matt

Steve Reply:

Hey Matt, Provillus is generally believed to be better than Scalpmed because of the two tiered approach, which also means it’s best to combine the pills with the liquid. Here’s why…

The pills help to block the hormones that cause hair loss, and also to balance the bodies hormones so that hair can grow back healthy and at a fast speed. While the liquid pinpoints the problem areas of hair loss and helps turbo charge the hair growth in that area. When these are used alone they work quite well, but when used together the results are faster and more complete.

I’ve had some pretty good success with the front hairline area. The company says it’s designed for the crown, which it is, but almost everyone I’ve spoken to has had good success with the hairline as well.

Yes, I would recommend using the topical solution on the front as well as the crown

Is this product suitable for vegetarian? Does it contains animal extract? From the website there was no customer service phone no or email address and how do you ask them about your concerns?

Hey, I’m not sure if the site has been updated but there’s a contact link up the top, and a contact phone number down the bottom which is available Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm . It is suitable for vegetarians, it doesn’t contain any animal extracts, only plant based. Hope this helps :)

i used this product 2 weeks and my hair steel fallig down(perhaps 40 on day). how long do i wait for results

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Kale, the average number of hairs lost in a day for someone without hair loss problems is 100, so you shouldn’t worry about seeing some hairs falling out. You should also wait at least 3 months before expecting to see any sort of results. This is because hair grows so slowly, you can’t expect your hair to grow thicker in just a couple of weeks. Give it time and you’ll see results.

Hi there,

I was told i have Talogen Effluvium caused by stress. I have 3 children and i work, so of course i will stress. I am skeptical of most products especially ones that cost so little.
I want to know though, how long after you see results do you stop taking the pills and using the lotion or is it an ongoing thing? not that you are happy with the results and then all of a sudden you stop and the progressive hair regrowth falls out again.
I have been taking some other vitamins for hair and nails and an a to z all in one. can the provillus be taken with these other vitamins?
Please help because there are more important things i could be worrying about right now.

Thanks

:( LouLou

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hey LouLou, those hair and nails things don’t actually do much, and yes you could take them all together without any adverse effects. Also, you need to keep taking the Provillus because the way it works is by blocking the hormones that cause your hair to fall out. So if you stop taking it, the hormones will continue to work and your new hair will gradually fall out again.

However in your case, since the hair fall is caused by stress, you will get benefit from Provillus because it helps to regrow hair faster, and eventually when you feel your stress is gone (maybe once the kids have grown up) you’ll be able to stop using it and see if there is additional hair fall.

Hi Steve, I wouldn’t recommend any dye especially bleaching (blonde colour), because it damages your hair. You should try Provillus and also use Nizoral shampoo and within 6 months you should begin to see results.

Jase @ 1:43 pm #

Hi Steve,

I’m 40 and have long hair. (The Heavy Metal headbanger type hair) Actually, I’ve never had a problem with balding in my life but recently I’ve noticed a slight thinning to the right side of my temple. I don’t have a history of baldness in my family so I’m not sure if this thinning is due to age or just stress, which I’ve been experiencing more over the past couple of years.
Anyway, I was thinking of taking Provillis as more of a supplement since it contains some useful and beneficial ingrediants in conjunction with Procerin XT foam on this problem area. What do you think and can you make some suggestons?

Cheers, Jase.

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hey Jase, I’d actually recommend you try out the Provillus tabs and liquid solution along with Nizoral shampoo which can be purchased from most chemists. The Procerin foam gets used very quickly so ends up being quite expensive

Hi Steve,

I’ve read many topics and comments regarding provillus as well as yours . but as i found , since the supplument
blocks DHT there are some effects on sex
drive when someone is using it . have you experienced
any depression maybe ? have had any noticable lack of
sexual ability or something ?

APPRECEIATE WHAT YOU ARE DOING, THANKS !

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Mahdi, I’ve heard this too, but I can honestly say I haven’t had any effects like that. I don’t think it has any effect on your testosterone, which is what causes sex drive. It just blocks the DHT which is like the toxic testosterone which binds and blocks new hair growth.

Hope this helps

Hey Steve,

You’ve said that you use the topical solution on both the crown and the front hairline. Do you use 1ml on each section, or do you use .5ml on the front and the other .5ml on the back?

I just started a Provillus regimen yesterday, and I am just a little uncertain about this.

(Thanks for documenting your results and for all the info on this page!)

Daniel @ 1:38 pm #

Hi all!

Encouraging to hear all the good results but I was wondering, is there anyone out there that has been using Provillus and or Procerin for longer than a year? I hate to be negative but many people have said once they stopped taking the tablets and using the foam that their hair loss returned so is it a case of taking these pills untill your ready to accept baldness or untill your hair actually stops growing?

If so is it safe to do this for say 10 years?

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Daniel. Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but there is no lifetime cure for hairloss yet. Just this stuff, which you do need to take daily for it to keep working. If you do stop taking it, then your hair will eventually just fall out to the stage that it was before you started Provillus.

However, it has been proven safe to take Provillus a long term basis without any health problems.

Hi,

Im planning to use the product but im a bit confused as to what the product does contain. On the main website the its just the tablets and on other website it comes with other provillus products. Is it just the tablets that i have to take or is there anything else that is needed with it.

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hey Basil. Yeah there is tablets which are the main part. Then there is also a liquid solution that you can take with it. If you can get both then that’s ideal because it’s both an internal and external approach.

My son is 19 and his hair is starting to thin, he is naturally quite shy and if he loses his hair I think that he will lose his confidence. Now the question I would love to have an answer for, is does Provillus cause excess hair growth? As my son has excessive body hair already, he doesnt want to exasperate that problem!
Thanks

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Emily.

Provillus wouldn’t make any difference to body hair. The way it works is by blocking the DHT in the scalp which allows hair on the head to grow, so it will only help him to regrow his lost hair on his head.

Hope this helps

Hey guys,

Im 21 and I first started noticing hair loss around two years ago. I begun using 5% minoxidil around 8 months ago and used it twice a day as instructed for 6 months however I only noticed a slowing of hair loss as I was still losing a lot of hair in the shower (but not as much as before). A couple of months ago, I ordered a 6 month supply of Provillus supplements to try to stop the hair loss as I had read that it works by reducing DHT levels in the scalp, the main cause of hair loss. Ive been using the Provillus supplements in combination with minoxidil for just under 2 months now. Ive noticed my hair feels thicker than before when I was using minoxidil alone but I’m still noticing a lot of hair falling out in the shower. My question is whether my hair loss will totally subside with continued use of Provillus supplements in combination with minoxidil because having hair falling out in the shower is extremely frustrating as I’m unsure whether the supplements are working or not. I fear that that all the supplements are doing is making my hair look healthier but not working to stop hair loss. What do you guys think?

Hi steve, Im 24 years old, female and i have struggled with thinning hair for some time now . more in the front. I am skeptical about provillus, although ive read a lot of reviews on it. Some are more positive than negative, but im not sure if these comments and sites are endorsed by provillus as a markating tactic. anyway, I watched your video and read through these comments on here. I was just wondering, How long does it take to start seeing results? and what exactly does provillus do? does it regrow and make hair thicker? and besides the capsules and liquid solution, what else should i use to avoid further hair loss? thanks

Reply

Steve Reply:

Hi Heather,

Yeah, it’s good to be skeptical, but there’s no harm in trying is there? The only way to find out for sure is to give it a proper try and have faith that it’ll work. The longer you leave it, reading some good reviews, some bad reviews etc, the more time is wasted and the more hair you will lose. So just go for it!

The time it takes differs from person to person, but usually around 6-8 weeks should be enough to start seeing some results. Since hair grows so slowly, it can take a while.

Others will be able to explain how it works more scientifically than me (I just use it and know it works :P ), and since mens hair loss is a bit different from womens, I don’t want to pretend I know what I’m talking about. Shoot the guys at the main site and email and they should be able to help you find out more.

Additional products I’d recommend would be Nizoral shampoo a couple times per week, and try to stay away from heaps of chemicals like dyes, and hair straighteners as much as you can.

Hope this helps :)
